Students in tap gain an exposure to both contemporary and classical tap rhythm and techniques. A variety of music is utilized in class as well as acappella work to focus on the true sounds. Al Gilbert Grade Levels are incorporated along with more traditional studies in tap. The focus will be on the foundations of tap including an extensive study of time steps will be pursued at all levels. The goal is understanding the building blocks so a tap dancer can adapt to the various styles and techniques available today in the world of dance.
